Lake County Animal Care & Control is dedicated to changing, for the better, animal lives in Lake County, as well as serving the public and ensuring public safety. Our animal care and control officers are responsible for issues like loose dogs, vicious dogs, animal abuse & neglect. Our shelter personnel is responsible for all of the animals in our care. Feeding, cleaning, medicating & exercising are just a few of the tasks the shelter staff handles to make life a little better for the shelter animals. On a daily basis we strive to find good, permanent homes for the adoptable animals in our care, which requires interviewing & educating potential pet adopters, as well as contacting rescue groups willing to take dogs or cats or livestock from our shelter to place in new homes outside Lake County. We also have a lost & found service for people to report lost or found pets. We are forced to put thousands of animals down every year due to lack of funding and need help!
