Description
Our Mission:
To enhance the lives of pediatric patients and their families by providing assistance to families, improving physical spaces in pediatric hospitals, educationg parents and medical staffs, and raising awareness of rare pediatric diseases.
Specifically, we provide care bags for families in the hospital, we grant emergency funds to families during their times of crisis so they can focus on their hospitilized child, we assist with non-medical expenses related to hospital stays, we provide wish -list items for units in the hospital and for children, we create more child and familiy friendly spaces in the hospitals, we speak to groups of parents and doctors helping them navigate family-centered care, and we strive to raise awareness in the general public regarding rare pediatric diseases.
This foundation was formed by Elizabeth and Jason Long after they lost their first child, Kylie, to anaplastic hepatoblastoma, a rare form of childhhod liver cancer.
