Description

KVCR-FM began in 1953 and KVCR-TV in 1962. KVCR-TV is the oldest public television station in Southern California, the first in the state licensed to an educational entity and the first in the country licensed to a community college. Our mission statement is: "It is the mission of KVCR, as part of the San Bernardino Community College District, to be the cultural and educational media center for all persons and entities residing in the Inland Empire area of Southern California." That mission includes NPR and PRI news and talk programming on KVCR-FM. It also includes PBS programming plus locally produced programming on KVCR-TV. The area we serve encompasses the cities of San Bernardino, Riverside, Ontario, Colton, Temecula, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Palm Springs and surrounding cities. Our programming is designed for all people of all ages, races, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and physical agility.
