Description
Head Start is a Federal program for children and families who live below the poverty guidelines. The Knoxville-Knox County Head Start/Early Head Start program is operated by Knoxville-Knox County Community Action Committee and serves 860 preschool children and 128 infants and toddlers. Head Start promotes school readiness by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through the provision of educational, health, nutritional, social and other services to enrolled children and families.
