Description
Knock Foundation is dedicated to helping the community of Rau Village outside of Moshi, Tanzania. Knock supports the operating budget of Matumaini Child Care Center (an orphanage) as well as supports their community level outreach programs designed with the goal of lifting people of the Kilimanjaro Region out of poverty. Knock also has its own community level self-sustainable development project which has built chicken coops and pig huts at the homes of six families. This project's goal is to help these families generate a more substantial income, thus allowing them to send all of their children to school, feed them, and provide proper health care. Lastly, Knock is in the process of renovating a clinic and dispensary in Shimbwe Village, located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Knock hopes to continue increasing its aid in this area with its sights set primarily on education, health care, and self-sustainability.
