Description
“Kimoyo” means “the language of the heart” in Swahili.It is the mission of Kimoyo LTD
- To create an appreciation within the Roanoke Valley for the importance of cultural diversity through education programs
- To establish and maintain international partnerships for self-empowerment that address health and economic issues.
Two Roanoke Valley churches – St. John’s Episcopal Church and Kingdom Life Ministries, International began to reach out to villages in northern Ghana to help plant trees, build homes and establish a much-needed hospital.
The Binaba Shop is a volunteer run African retail store whose proceeds fund the hospital and Kimoyo's educational and microeconomics projects.
The Binaba Hospital is a 24-bed Binaba Hospital with a full-time physician, more than 30 staff members, and a small maternity ward. Kimoyo, LTD. is now establishing a hospital in the Upper East Region. Kimoyo also offers educational programs in cultural diversity.
