Kids Making It (KMI) is a woodworking and art program for at-risk youth ages 13 and up. KMI is dedicated to teaching vocational, entrepreneurial and life-skills in thier 7-days-per-week, year-round program. KMI provides a positive mentoring enviornment and a safe alternative to the streets and gangs. All KMI students are able to unleash thier imaginations and create a vairety of item which they then are able to sell in the KMI retail shop and earn 100% of the profits from thier sales. While learning valuable woodworking skills, they also learn the Golden Rule, the truth of actions and consequences, and the true meaning of Character. They learn to take responsibility for their actions, and are encouraged and supported to grow into responsible, caring, successful adults, transitioning into college or the workforce.
