Description
Keneseth Israel Sisterhood is a constituent group for Keneseth Israel Synagogue in Elkins Park, PA. We sponsor many activities to interest and stimulate the mind, body and spirit of Keneseth Israel women. Some of the activities we participate in include: Book reviews led by the Rabbi; an Interfaith Program with religious organizations in the community; Chanukah Bazaar; Sisterhood Shabbat; social action initiatives; as well as supporting Congregational, Brotherhood, PTA, and youth group activities through our fundraising efforts. Fundraising is designed to support the synagogue and community. We annually prepare bags to be distributed to battered women attending a weekend retreat. Our fundraising also supports rabbinic students in other countries.
