Kanuikapono or "KANU" is a project based public charter school in Hawaii on the island of Kauai and located in a small rural native Hawaiian homesteads community where over 90% of its student are registered native children.
Many of the student enter the school One or two grade levels below the standard DOE requirement for student in public schools.
Aside of education, we provide athletic afterschool/weekend sports activities, and summer school.
Students come from all walk in life with many from the local homeless population.
Despite challenges, Kanuikapono has surpass its expected performance levels over 10-years and is currently recognized as one school with promising future directly impacting the lives of families in the community of 2000 people.
Currently our school is working hard to build its very own school and raising funds is the new challenge for us.
