Founded in 1991 and incorporated as a 501(c)(3), Jóvenes 24 Hrs. A.D. Inc (J24) is a community-based non-profit organization committed to helping the underprivileged minority, immigrant and indigent population of New York who suffer from the disease of alcoholism and substance abuse recover from the disease and gain the skills they need to lead full and productive lives. J24 offers harm reduction and educational lectures to its residents and the community, crisis intervention, counseling, referrals, food, transitional housing and clothing to clients until they are ready to be reintegrated into the community. What most distinguishes J24 from traditional drug treatment centers is the fact that these services are provided in Spanish as well as English, are free of charge, and are offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
