Description
Jatukik Providence Foundation (JPF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping improve the lives of the people in the Democratic Republic of Congo and in the USA. JPF pursues its mission through two interconnected activities:
1. Supporting community based projects in health, education and conservation in the Congo which foster the goals of sustainable development and social justice; and,
2. Promoting cross cultural understanding and education in the United States about the Congo and African societies and the human values they stand for
The challenges facing the 60 million people of the Congo are immense: a majority of the population is subsistence farmers, struggling with inadequate infrastructure, the ravages of war and disease, and pressures on the natural environment. But the prospects for economic and social development in the Congo are also extraordinary, based on the country’s natural resources wealth and the spirit of its people.
