Description

The Hull House, founded by Jane Addams in the late 1800s and based in Chicago, Illinois, offers services to improve social conditions for underserved people and communities. Ms. Addams promoted the idea that any person could overcome the obstacles of the ghetto if given a chance to cultivate his or her skills in an environment with accessible education, adequate houseing, and reliable income. The Hull House has grown over the past 100 years to be a leader in social change through it numerous child development, child welfare, housing, and small business development programs.
