The Iowa Association of RSVP Directors is comprised of 22 Program Directors who are responsible for the mobilization of 7,454 Iowans who serve over 816,877 hours a year in 45 counties. RSVP is a federally funded program through the Corporation for National and Community Service in which adults 55 years and older volunteer their time, talents, skills, and experience to change Iowa for the better.
Last year, nearly 6000 children and youth were served through tutoring, mentoring, and head start opportunities. Roughly, 24,500 seniors were served through nursing home visits, home delivered meals, and access to transportation. Another 97,800 Iowans in need were served through disaster response, tax assistance, food banks, and thrift stores.
The Iowa Association of RSVP Directors provide support to Iowa RSVP projects and promote visibility, advocacy, and collaboration across the state of Iowa.
