International Relief Teams (IRT) is a nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to providing critical assistance to victims of disaster, poverty and neglect worldwide. Founded in 1988, IRT specializes in medical training and education, surgical outreach, public health and disaster relief.
IRT has an efficient approach to the delivery of humanitarian aid - nearly all program activities are performed by teams of specialists who volunteer their time. IRT serves as a conduit - linking people in desperate need with specialists who have the skills to meet those needs. These specialists include a corps of highly skilled physicians, nurses and other medical professionals, as well as skilled and semi-skilled construction personnel.
