Description
The Michigan State University International Rehabilitation Forum (MSU IRF) is a student-run organization that focuses on raising awareness for and assisting in building sustainable medical rehabilitation in developing worlds. Instead of sending highly trained physicians to treat the people of an underserved region, it is the primary goal of the MSU IRF to send qualified physicians trained in rehabilitation to teach the local doctors in the hope that the care will be passed on for generations to come. In terms of continuing training, the MSU IRF will raise funding to support the installation of advanced telecommunication equipment in the developing regions; this way, we can update their knowledge of rehabilitation medicine while instilling the infrastructure needed to sustain a high quality of medical care.
