IHN provides transitional housing for homeless families through 42 congregations and synagogues in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It serves on average 50 families per year, with at least 100 homeless children. It also helps families assess what caused them to be homeless and provides counseling and referral to community agencies to help overcome the problems. Families stay in the program until they receive vouchers for permanent housing.
