To profoundly impact the lives of disadvantaged children through the gifts of musical instrument donations, instruction, and performance.
There are many homes across the United States with musical instruments sitting idle in closets, garages and living rooms. The primary mission of Instruments of Change is to seek out these unused musical instruments and place them with children who do not have the means to purchase an instrument of their own. Instruments of Change will also provide instruction for those receiving instruments. Why musical instruments? Studies show that children who learn to play a musical instrument are far more likely to graduate high school, score higher in academic pursuits, are more likely to attend at least some college, and are less likely to be involved in drug and alcohol abuse. Children who learn to play an instrument show an increase in self-esteem and greater confidence in their abilities.
