Description
ISL is a K-8 Charter School in Lake County, FL. As a FL School of Character, ISL focuses on academics AND the ‘Six Pillars of Character’. Students are offered many opportunities to explore the six pillars through “Dramatic Mentoring”, Serving without Borders” and our “Terrific Kid” programs.
ISL also has a creative learning environment, working with the PTO to create fun fundraisers that include plenty of teaching opportunities. One of these is the “Warrior Shop” or school store that is run by the middle school students. Students practice their math, language and customer service skills in a real life setting.
ISL teaches the students about community responsibilities. The students planted and maintained several gardens. The students collected scarves and books for a sister school. They collected food for a local food bank and animal supplies for the local animal shelter.
