Description
HVAF (Helping Homeless Veterans and Families is dedicated to eliminating homelessness for veterans and their families through prevention, education, supportive servicess and advocacy. HVAF’s 22 bed Residential Employment and Substance Abuse Treatment program (REST) is the primary entry point into the HVAF continua of care. This program is an effective program that produces positive results in moving homeless veterans with substance abuse, mental health issues, or both, to clean and sober veterans; from homelessness to employability and housing. HVAF also has a Veteran’s Service Center to assist homeless and near homeless veterans with direct causes relating to their individual homeless situations (food, shelter, clothing, furniture, employment counseling, personal hygiene items). HVAF operates 15 transitional housing units with a total of 84 beds,a 13 bed apartment complex, and a dormitory with 50 beds.
