Description
The Hunter Gallery opened in 1952 in the home of George Thomas Hunter, the nephew and heir to one of the original Coca-Cola Bottling families. Today, the Hunter Museum of American Art is a 77,000-square-foot facility which encompasses three unified buildings constructed in 1905, 1973, and 2005. It houses a collection of 3000 works in a striking location in downtown Chattanooga, Tennessee, overlooking the Tennessee River from an 80-foot bluff.
