Description

Since its founding in 1992, Humanities Foundation has worked to increase the availability of affordable housing in order to create healthy communities. Our mission is to end homelessness by increasing the availability of affordable housing through advocacy, education, non-profit housing development, rental/utility assistance, tenant services, and technical assistance. Humanities works with other non-profit and government agencies contributing time, resources and expertise to efforts that address the affordable housing and human service needs of Lowcountry citizens. Efforts to date have resulted in the development of over 1400 rental units of affordable housing, providing homes for low-income individuals, including populations such as the working poor, the disabled, single mothers and senior citizens.
