Humane Society of Washington County

about

The Humane Society of Washington was established in 1978 and attained 501(c)(3) status in 1994. We assist the city and county animals who are brought to the shelter by providing food and consumable supplies like bleach, cat litter, alcohol, peroxide, bedding, and office supplies to name a few items specifically. By ordinance, any animal adopted from the animal shelter must be spayed or neutered. The Humane Society of Washington County, Indiana helps keep adoption fees affordable by paying a portion of the spay/neuter cost for each animal adopted. We provide spay/neuter assistance to residents of Washington County who are in financial need. Kind News is a publication of the Humane Society of the United States. We pay for and distribute this newsletter to all the schools grades K-5 in Washington County.
