Description
We are a humane society incorporated in the state of Maryland. We have been in existence since the 1950's We take in approximately 5500 animals a year and attempt to reunite them (if stray or lost)with their owners and try to adopt out as many of the others as possible. All of our lost and adoptable animals are fetured on our website and it is updated every day. We microchip all adopted animals. We are on call 24 hrs. a day for emergencies. We act as the animal care and control agents for Carroll County encompassing 450 square miles. Our animal control officers enforce all the county and state laws pertaining to animals and their care (running at large, barking, licensing etc ) and we investigate all complaints of cruelty and or neglect and take the appropriate action. (possibly education is needed, maybe a warning or a citation occassionaly we'll file a charging document with the Statey Attorney for prosicution)
