Description
We are a non-profit 501 3 c foundation.
We are supported by memberships, grants, donations & fund raisers. We receive no government funds and we are not affiliated with any national organization. We are a completely independent organization.
We have a shelter on 11 acres which houses both cats and dogs, with the occasional rabbit, goat, or pet rat. We have 3 permanent paid staff positions. We also have many volunteers and community workers that perform a multitude of necessary tasks. Our volunteers come from the general public, as well as schools, scout groups, etc.
The following is the HSIMC Mission Statement:
Provide a safe haven for displaced companion animals.
Enhance the physical and mental well-being of the animals in our care while seeking suitable homes.
Actively assist in reducing pet overpopulation through education and spay/neuter programs.
Develop awareness and promote responsible and humane treatment of all animals.
