Description
Housing First is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1991. We are governed by an eight-member volunteer board of directors made up of local professionals and others interested in affordable housing issues, who meet monthly. Our philosophy is based on the premise that all individuals have the right to safe, affordable, and sanitary housing regardless of income. We have acted as an advocate and developer of affordable housing in Juneau; our mission statement allows us to extend our mission to all of Southeast Alaska.
As a small, efficient, grassroots non-profit housing developer, Housing First utilizes an experienced working board, proactive Administrator and strong partnerships to promote, develop, advocate for and manage programs that help low-income individuals access affordable housing.
