Description
Household Goods Recycling Ministry, Inc., a non-proft 501(c)(3) charitable corporation located in Acton, Ma. was started in the driveway of the founders, Barbara and Ira Smith in 1990. Our Mission: To provide recycled goods to the needy individuals and families of our surrounding communities at no charge, through the use of volunteers, and in cooperation with religious organizations of all faiths and denominations, human service agencies, service organizations and commerical businesses. We have NO paid staff. We are managed by a Board of Directors (14) and run by over 120 volunteers. In 2005 we gave away 14,911 pieces of furniture and appliances free of charge to over 2,800 families. We welcome support from anyone who believes in helping those coming out of homeless shelters, and bad times.
