Description
House of New Beginnings, Inc. reaches out to youth in the group home/foster care
system who are between the ages of 16-25. Our goal is to help prepare them to live
independently when they "age out" of the group home / foster care system.
Listed below are the specific areas of services that we offer:
Assignment of a mentor/advocate to a youth / young adult that is currently in
a group home or foster care. We will also assign mentor/advocates to
young adults that has "aged out" of the group home or foster care system.
Each mentor/advocate will help prepare them for independent living. For
the young adults that has "aged out" they will assist each young adult to
find stable housing.
Preparation classes for job placement
Independent living "real life" workshops (Topics will include: How to budget
your money, Time management)
Fall 2010 - Emergency housing to fill the gap upon "aging out" of the group
home / foster care system
