Description
Hospitality House of Charlotte (HHoC) is a “home away from home” that since 1985, has provided out-of-town guests with shelter while their loved ones are undergoing treatment in nearby hospitals. HHoC provides shelter for 50 guests per night. In addition to the Overnight Program, there is also a Day Guest Program for families who spend the night at the hospital with their loved one but need to shower and wash clothes. Since 1985, 120 dedicated volunteers and staff have served more than 40,000 guests from 49 states and over 35 countries. The house is full every night and there is a waiting list every day. As a private, nonprofit organization HHoC is funded entirely through charitable donations from individuals, corporations, foundations and churches.
