Mission
Horton's Kids mission is to provide comprehensive services to the children of Ward 8 of Washington, DC, improving the quality of their daily lives, nurturing their desire and ability to succeed.
Children gather three times per week for after-school tutoring sessions that reinforce reading literacy and math skills. Horton's Kids delivers a “mobile tutoring approach” in which children learn in safe, supervised environments enhanced with positive adult role models and proven educational materials.
In addition to tutoring, weekly mentoring activities include:
