Description

Hope, Horses and Kids (HHK) is a non-profit equine learning program centrally located between the Monterey Peninsula and the Salinas Valley in Monterey County. By introducing children and youth with special needs to the experience of caring for, guiding and riding horses, we help them to reach personal milestones. Our instructional approach emphasizes positive life skills including respect, responsibility, relationships, boundaries and communication. Founded in 2010 by Executive Director Lori Tuttle and incorporated as a non-profit in 2012, the program faces an increasing demand for its services. Over the past year, HHK has offered individual mounted lessons to 25 special needs children and youth, and an additional 75 youth have participated in group programs.
