Founded in 1976, by Arietta Black and Alice Trotter, two heroic women whose path to recovery from alcohol and drugs intertwined with passion turned their vision into reality. Hope Haven has provided critical services to a growing and forgotten population – the homeless and addicted in the community for more than thirty years.
Hope Haven creates a solid foundation of recovery through counseling, life skills, vocational training and ancillary services for chemically dependent men, women and families in a supportive residential environment. As the only Licensed Aftercare Substance Abuse provider in North Carolina Hope Haven provides shelter, treatment and training to a disproportionate number of homeless and chemically dependent men, women and families. Hope Haven was the first aftercare facility in the US to reunite families.
