Description
For over 25 years, Hope and a Home, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has empowered homeless and low income families in Washington, DC to create stable homes for themselves and to make lasting changes in their lives. During their stay with us, parents and children build on their aspirations and strengths to achieve permanent housing, educational success, rewarding work, and valuable connections to their community. Since our inception, more than 152 families (including more than 348 children and over 154 adults) have come through our highly affordable, low rent Transitional Housing Program. Within our Stay and Thrive Program we have organized 350 residents living in 164 subsidized apartments on the 1400 block of R Street in support of the tenants’ desire to stay in their homes and thrive as positive changes come to the community.
