Honors Choirs of Southeast Minnesota is a nonprofit performing arts organization for youth in grades 3 - 12. Now in its 15th Anniversary Season, Honors Choirs offer unparalleled musical opportunities and enrichment to young people of southeast Minnesota while giving to our community a rich heritage of beautiful choral music. This season, over 290 singers in are participating in one of our five choirs, representing 26 towns and 51 different schools in the region. The singers in these groups learn outstanding choral repertoire, hone their musical skills, and gain the self-confidence and pride that comes from meeting the high expectations of their conductors. All singers are auditioned every year in the late spring for the following season. The choirs rehearse weekly on Sunday afternoons and evenings during the academic year learning choral repertoire from a variety of musical genres, historical periods, and world cultures, as well as the basics of music theory and history.
