The Homestead at Alder Cove's goal is to provide a consistently nurturing and safe home for foster children of WA state between the ages of 9 and 18. We plan to work with the State of Washington and other local agencies to provide a safe, loving and stable home for these children. We also plan to serve as an adoption agency and facilitate adoption placements, as needed.
The Homestead at Alder Cove will be situated on 45 acres in Vaughn, Pierce County, Washington and hope to break ground on the facility during 2009. It will start with a cluster of individual dwellings surrounding a common area for recreation and administration. The development plan will be to provide homes for 100 children in 2010. At maximum capacity, the facility will provide housing and services for 200 foster children.
The mission of The Homestead at Alder Cove is to provide a home where every child feels safe, secure, valued, and able to nurture their sense of personal worth.
