Description
Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is the nation’s largest provider of residential, education and employment training centers—serving over 630 homeless families and over 1,200 homeless children each day at five separate sites across New York City. Dubbed American Family Inns, these sites function as communities of opportunity, carefully integrating a network of on-site education, employment and family support services that address the multiple causes of homelessness.
HFH is dedicated to reducing homelessness and poverty by providing families with the education and training that will enable them to build independent lives. Most programs have a written curriculum that HFH has created and published. HFH provides technical assistance in the form of program curricula and staff training to organizations across the country in an effort to bring tested and proven resources to other groups assisting homeless families in leading self-sufficient and independent lives.
