Description
The mission of the Hixson Museum of Flight is a charitable and educational museum dedicated to increase the public’s awareness of aviation through the flight of historical aircraft while supporting the local children’s hospital.
The museum has several historically important aircraft representing defining moments in flight from a 1946 Taylor craft that was the mainstay of the post war aviation boom in the United States, to a 1958 Multi- engine Aztec, Piper's affordable answer to the airborne family station wagon of that era. The current focus of the museum are two (2) T-28 aircraft that are actual combat veterans with battle damage that are being made air worthy thanks to the work of a diverse, robust group of volunteers who spent the last year making that happen.
