Description
A 40 acre area of Hastings, NE is being developed into an arboretum. It includes a historic pioneer cemetery dated 1893 and a lighted 1933 fountain. Hundreds of trees, shrubs and perennials will be planted to replace those that are dying from age, disease, or frequent high winds and ice storms. We have a landscape plan done by the Nebraska Statewide Arboretum for appropriate zone 5 hardy plants. The educational benefits of an arboretum include the labeling of plants as well as community access for bird habitat, walking paths, gazebo meditation, and information on tree shape, color, size, blossoms, etc. We appreciate your joining us in fund raising for this project.
