Description
HaU is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for chairtable public purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) and Section 23701d of the California Revenue and Taxation Code, as amended.
Specific Purpose: To organize and operate an independent nonprofit corporation to recruit underrepresented minority students from all socioeconomic backgrounds in California, focusing on the Latina community, to institutions of higher education, to retain these students, to increase their graduation rates.
-To develop leadership, education and career skills through community service, social support network events and academic workshops.
-To raise awareness within institutions of higher education and the broader California community about issues of concern to underrepresented minorities, including but no limited to issues affecting Latinas.
