The Hemochromatosis Information Society is a nonprofit corporation formed to promote public awareness of the genetic disorder hereditary hemochromatosis. The organization strives to meet the needs of those individuals, their families, and friends diagnosed with hereditary hemochromatosis. HIS recognizes the urgency of early diagnosis and treatment to prevent devastating long-term health affects associated with iron overload.
