Description
Helping Hands was established thirty years ago as a result of a domestic violence tragedy in Hood River, OR. Helping Hands provides services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families in the mid Columbia regions of Oregon and Washington. Helping Hands provides 30 day emergency shelter, 24 hour crisis hotline, community outreach and education, emergency assistance such as food and clothing, medical and legal referrals and assistance, safety planning and Support Groups in English and in Spanish. We also have a 1 year transitional housing program for young women aged 16-24 and their children, who have been victims of crime and would otherwise be homeless. This goal oriented program also includes Life-Skill classes and mentoring with community partners.
