Description
This year, 30,000 children will wake up in a hospital bed in Greater Boston. Some will be there for life-saving treatment. Others will be dealing with chronic conditions. Many will be in pain. The majority will be lonely; all will be scared and eager to go home. Hearts & Noses Hospital Clown Troupe provides bedside visits to thousands of these children each year. Our highly trained volunteers will bring their special brand of gentle, age-appropriate clowning to ill and disabled children who, along with their families, need to feel empowered in institutional settings. Thriving on one-on-one attention from their own "personal" clown, children become children once again -- discovering inner strength that supports healing.
