Description
Healthy Families of the High Desert is a child abuse prevention program serving high risk first time parents with intensive home visiting services in Deschutes County, Oregon. Our purpose is to help families give their newborn children a strong start in life. The program provides support through weekly home visits, identifying strengths and needs, empowering parents to achieve personal and parenting goals. We promote education by creating a safe and nurturing environment, promoting child and family health and wellness and providing age appropriate activities for positive parent/child interaction. We assist families in accessing community resources for food, housing, transportation, educational opportunities, counseling and support groups and health and dental care.
