Description
Healthy Black Communities, Inc. (HBC) is a 501(c)(3) community based organization established in August 2001 to provide essential programs and services that foster healthy behavior and lifestyle within the Black community, both domestically and internationally.
The functions of the organization are to (1) develop programs and services responsive to health disparities within the Black community; (2) develop programs and services responsive to mobilizing and improving the quality of life for same gender loving Black people; (3) partner with organizations outside the United States to share program initiatives adopted or proven concepts/strategies that will improve the quality of life for developing countries or marginalized communities outside the United States; and (4) develop organizational and technological infrastructures that will assist in building programmatic and structural capacities to operate programs and services responsive to the needs of communities.
