Description
The Hawaii Youth Symphony (HYS) exists to promote high musical standards in student performances of orchestral literature and to develop skills to attain this goal among students of Hawai`i's public, private, and home schools.
Encouraging the virtuosi of the future, HYS is dedicated to helping talented children develop and showcase their musical skills. What began as one small orchestra has grown into a statewide program comprised of seven orchestral groups. Our students range from beginners to accomplished musicians. Education and performance are both essential elements of the program.
