HandsOn - New Orleans

HandsOn New Orleans was formed in 2006 as a project of the HandsOn Network as a disaster response unit. From 2006 through 2008 HandsOn New Orleans focused it’s efforts on rebuilding, recovery and community assistance. In 2008 HandsOn New Orleans became an independent 501c(3) in order to turn the volunteer movement of the rebuilding effort into a sustainable service community that can help build the capacity of our non-profit partners. HandsOn New Orleans is now the Volunteer Center for the City of New Orleans and is certified by the Louisiana Serve Commission to act as the official Volunteer Response Center for Southeast Louisiana during times of emergencies.
