Description
Hampstead Stage is a nationally touring children's theatre out of New Hampshire. We perform over two thousand shows a year at Schools, Libraries, and community venues; we have played for over nineteen million audience members. Our shows are performed by two actors; each playing several roles, and we always include children from the audience. We endeavor not only to entertain, but also to educate. We bring classic literature to life - from William Shakespeare to Charles Dickens. Our theatrical philosophy is to use truth, realism and honesty to bring these performances to an audience largely unfamiliar with being a participant in this experience. Another aspect we pride ourselves on is never talking down to our audiences or assuming that we know at what level true understanding occurs. By bringing great works of literature to life, we promote an interest in reading the classics, thus ensuring and developing appreciation of great theatre--keeping it alive for future generations.
