Haley House is a lean, feisty non-profit, started in 1966 in Boston's South End. Originally making available basic necessities such as food and clothing, we have developed various strategies to address other challenges faced by the people we serve, mobilizing our resources to support people in their move toward economic independence and meaningful lives. Our newest project is the Haley House Bakery Café and Training Program in Dudley Square. This social enterprise, located in a once thriving mercantile center, is a response to the neighborhood’s desire for healthy, delicious choices for breakfast and lunch in a wholesome, vibrant setting— complete with free, wireless internet access! Fairly traded, gourmet coffees and teas promote justice while our nutritious food celebrates the ethnic richness of the community.
