Description
Habitat for Humanity International was founded in 1976. Millard and Linda Fuller started Habitat for Humanity International in Americus, Georgia. Millard, an attorney, felt that it was a shame that many working people in the richest country in the world had to live in substandard housing. The York, Pennsylvania chapter was founded in 1985. It is a non- profit volunteer organization dedicated to helping low- income families realize their dream of home ownership. Through donations and volunteers committed to hard work, York Habitat for Humanity has rehabilitated and constructed 77 homes, preparing them for qualified lower- income families of York County.
