Tallahassee Habitat for Humanity (THFH) is an ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating homeless and substandard housing in Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida. Tallahassee Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to provide simple, decent housing for individuals and families, currently living in substandard housing. The ultimate goal is to change lives and our communities through homeownership. Homeownership will be achieved for the current homeowners but will also be available for their children’s children.
Tallahassee Habitat for Humanity gives a hand up, not a hand out. Individuals must meet income eligibility guidelines in addition to being employed at the same place for at least six months and be approved by THFH's Board. Upon closing, they receive a 30 year, zero-interest loan and a mortgage averaging approximately $500 per month.
