Description
Poverty housing hurts families, neighborhoods and communities. Poverty housing keeps us from achieving our God-given potential as a community. But there are solutions to the problem of poverty housing, solutions that are not expensive but need committed people to help.
Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is a nonprofit, ecumenical housing ministry. Habitat works in partnership with families in need to build simple, decent, affordable housing.
Since its founding in 1990, Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia has built and rehabilitated homes for 50 families, housing more than 225 people, with 141 of them children.
Habitat’s goal is to sustain a high level of annual house-building and house rehabilitations. Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia has an aggressive goal to build 50 homes in the next five years.
